Everfuel’s project Frigg secures European Hydrogen Bank support for 200 MW green hydrogen production
Herning, Denmark, 29.05.2026 – Everfuel A/S is pleased to announce that it has received notification for production support of 0.98 EUR/kg hydrogen corresponding to 244.9 million EUR under the European Hydrogen Bank's “Auctions-as-a-Service” for green hydrogen projects in Denmark. The support is dedicated for 200 MW electrolyser capacity in the first phase of Everfuel’s Project Frigg.
The funding notification reflects strong interest in advancing large-scale green hydrogen production in Denmark, with several projects receiving support, including the initial phases of Everfuel’s project Frigg.
Frigg is Everfuel’s planned large-scale hydrogen production facility at the Revsing Energy Park in Vejen, Denmark. The project is designed for phased development towards up to 2 GW of electrolyser capacity with intended connection to the Danish-German hydrogen backbone and supply to industrial customers in Germany.
“We are very pleased to receive the notification of production support from the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, which confirms the competitiveness and maturity of Project Frigg. It’s also positive to see that several Danish projects are progressing, supporting the development of a strong hydrogen industry in Denmark,” says Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO and Founder of Everfuel.
“We welcome the notification as an important step supporting the development of large-scale hydrogen infrastructure in Europe. Projects such as Frigg are key to enabling industrial decarbonisation, and we look forward to continuing the development together with Everfuel and partners,” says Dr. Marc Schürch, Board member and representing Swiss Life Asset Managers as investor in Everfuel.
Everfuel and the project partners continue to focus on development activities, subject to the conditions of the support scheme and further project maturation of Frigg.
A key next milestone for Project Frigg is the booking of capacity in the Danish hydrogen backbone. Certain commercial and regulatory conditions related to the capacity booking framework remain to be clarified and adjusted to ensure a successful booking in December.
“While we are encouraged by the support, our focus is now on the next important milestone, which is to secure capacity in the hydrogen pipeline. There are still a number of key conditions that need to be addressed to enable booking in pipeline, and we will continue to engage with relevant stakeholders to progress this, in parallel with our discussions with offtakers” says Jacob Krogsgaard.
