Hydrogen activities

4 km² for renewable and hydrogen production

To decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy industry and mobility, green hydrogen produced from solar and wind energy is essential. Hydrogen plays a critical role in curbing climate change and achieving full decarbonisation of society. It helps balance the power grid as renewable energy production can be stored and used when needed, even when the wind isn’t blowing or the sun isn’t shining.

Hydrogen production through electrolysers is a well-established technique that efficiently utilises fluctuating renewable energy, which would otherwise be curtailed. Europe’s abundant renewable energy sources are crucial for the large-scale deployment of green hydrogen. Using renewable energy for hydrogen production is vital to continue harnessing renewable energy and to make a viable business case for the available renewable energy sources.

Everfuel is actively engaged, both independently and in partnerships, in utilising existing renewable energy assets and developing new production capacity to support green hydrogen production. To date, Everfuel has secured access to 4 square kilometres of land for the future development of electrolysers and power generation assets.
